Mid Atlantic Paddlesports is the sales division of Turning Point Boatworks. The original plan was to return to the full service paddlesports shop that is becoming so hard to find. Turning Point serves as a factory authorized repair facility for several manufacturers. Having the ability to provide service at the time and after the sale is a rarity these days. We value relationships and strive to build on that with Mid Atlantic Paddlesports.
Lesley is the force behind MAPs. Her decades of customer service and sales experience makes her the driving force. Being married to Joey does have its hazards, falling in love with paddling is one of them. Her unique and fresh perspective ensures that the customer always comes first. Making sure the customer gets what is right for them is paramount and Lesley is perfect to help guide them along the way. She is also an accomplished paddler and kayak instructor. She is a certified ACA L2 instructor and can help beginners get comfortable in their new kayaks.
Joey is in the support role here at MAPs. With over 25 years of paddling experience and 10 years as an ACA L4 Coastal Instructor, his goal is to “spread the stoke” for paddling. His philosophy in paddling is to keep it simple. The relationship between body boat and blade do not need to be complicated. At the shop, his years of experience with both major and minor repairs has made Turning Point a destination, not just a simple repair shop.
Together, Lesley and Joey have one simple goal. Simply provide the customer with the best service possible and the business will take care of itself.

The Stellar 14' Low Volume (S14-LV) Touring Kayak is in response to demand for a smaller version of our popular S14. Designed for speed and stability for small to medium sized paddlers for touring and fitness paddling, the S14-LV has the speed of a much longer boat. Two water tight hatches allow for ample storage for day and overnight trips, while the retractable skeg in the stern helps with tracking. The S14-LV comes standard with fittings to upgrade to a rudder steered boat as well. Its short length and light weight make it ideal for those who want a high performance boat, but are short on storage space or frequently car-top their boat.

The new Stellar Intrepid LV SILV is a British Style sea kayak with a hint of Greenland in it. The fully outfitted expedition kayak has 3 hatches, a retractable Kajak-sport skeg, deck lines, bungee and sealed bulkheads. Sized for the smaller to mid-sized paddler the cockpit, seat and thigh braces, are optimized to increase comfort and performance. The hull, with hard chines and some rocker, allows for play in surf, races and rock gardens while the defined keel combined with a modified water lines have increased the efficiency of the hull making a smooth paddling kayak that edges nicely.
